Getting to Wadi RUM
Getting to and from Wadi Rum is not difficult with a little planning. By car is the easiest and most convenient means but if you don't have that luxury then by taxi or bus is the go.
We are happy to assist with taxi bookings or a private driver on your behalf. Amman is not well connected to Wadi Rum by bus. It is easier to come from Petra or Aqaba.
AMMAN to WADI RUM
324KM (allow 4 hours)
BY CAR: Approximately 4 hours from Amman or a little less from the airport. Follow Desert Highway 15 to Aqaba and keep going all they way until you approach Rashdiyah village on your right. You will do a U-turn at the Wadi Rum sign and then turn right onto the only paved road that leads to Wadi Rum. There are fuel stops and restaurants along the way if you wish to break up your journey.BY TAXI: Approximately 4 hours at a cost of about 110 JOD
PETRA TO WADI RUM
115KM (allow 1.5 to 2 hours)
BY CAR: Approximately 2 hours where your journey will be split between the King's Highway, Route 35 and the Desert Highway, Route 15. Once on Route 15 keep going towards Aqaba until you approach Rashdiyah village on your right. You will do a U-turn at the Wadi Rum sign and then turn right onto the only paved road that leads to Wadi Rum. BY TAXI: Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes at a cost of 45 JOD. BY BUS: A daily bus leaves Wadi Musa at 6am, except Friday. It is possible to arrange through your accommodation in Wadi Musa. The cost is 7JOD.
AQABA TO WADI RUM
72km (allow about 1 hour)
BY CAR: Follow desert highway to Amman and turn right at the Wadi Rum sign. BY TAXI: From Aqaba center 25 JOD / From Tala Bay or the airport 35 JOD BY BUS: Get in touch and we can advise the most up to date information.
MONEY AND PRICING
As yet there are no ATM facilities in the village. We only accept cash payments, preferably in JOD. Other currencies are accepted if you get stuck.
Note: the prices we charge may not be the cheapest on the internet but we offer competitive rates that enable us to give you the best experience possible and receive a fair income for day to day living.
WEATHER
July and August are hottest months with longest daylight hours. At the other extreme December to February have very cool nights and the days are short.
